RECORDING INFORMATION
Sviatoslav Richter’s famous recital, exactly as it was recorded in 1958 in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Russian-born Richter had a bravura technique and his very personal approach to each work ensured legendary performances on both stage and disc.

This famous recital has been reissued on quite a few occasions, but up till now you’ve never had the chance to hear it in 24 bits-96kHz sound.

Apart from probably the greatest performance of Pictures at an Exhibition ever to be found on record we find works from Chopin, Liszt and Schubert, and as a bonus Rachmaninoff’s Prelude in G sharp minor which Richter used as an encore to the recital (this prelude has so far only been available in the Great Pianists of the 20th Century edition.)
