RECORDING INFORMATION | |
The themes of the album are timelessness, purity, hope and devotion; all highly appropriate at the dawn of a new millennium and well beyond the end of the millennium.
Andrea feels that the opportunity to sing these sacred arias is a rare and privileged one. He particularly feels that the timing is appropriate to highlight their importance and that they have as much relevance now as they did when they were written. The album includes all of the most famous sacred arias (Caccini's, Bach's, Schubert's) as well as Gloria a te, Cristo Gesù, written in celebration of the millennium/Jubilee events in Rome. It also includes Christmas tracks, Silent night and Adeste fideles (O come, all ye faithful). |
