As a boy of 18, Pollini took the first prize in the International Chopin Competition in Warsaw in 1960, immediately after which he recorded Chopin's Piano Concerto in E minor with Paul Kletzki and the Philharmonia Orchestra, a recording which stands today as one of the absolute touchstones in Chopin interpretation. This recording is included here.
