- An all British affair as cellist Julian Lloyd Webber is joined by Sir Neville
Marriner and the Academy of St Martin in the Fields for works by Britten and Walton.
- The Walton (from 1956) is a work infused with warmth and light, reminiscent
of the Mediterranean climate much loved by Walton who spent a great deal of time
in Italy.
- The Britten Symphony is more of a partnership than the original conventional
concerto form (as its title implies) and was originally written in 1963 for Rostropovich.
